Coffee Aloha
Try this vintage coffee drink recipe that is new to us, Coffee Aloha. This delicious coffee drink has a wonderful mouth feel from the rich coconut and fresh hand made whipped cream and is like a Starbucks drink before many people even knew Starbucks existed. Give it a try and see if you also agree that this vintage recipe should come out of the past and back onto the modern table.
Full Recipe
2 cups milk
2 cups extra-strong black coffee
3 1/2-ounce can or 1 1/3 cup bagged flaked coconut
2 tablespoons sugar
Whipped cream for topping
Toasted Coconut for topping
Heat together one 3 1/2-ounce can flaked coconut, 2 cups milk, and 2 tablespoons sugar in saucepan. Pour into blender container and liquify; strain. Add 2 cups extra-strong coffee; reheat. Serve in cups topped with a dollop of whipped cream. Sprinkle with toasted coconut.
Makes 6 servings.
